6/11/2023 0 Comments Pomello church st san fran![]() ![]() While visiting our daughter in San Francisco, we let her be our guide to great restaurants in the Noe Valley and Pomelo was one of her excellent choices. The second also left me a message, more apologetic, but he said he would reach out to me to discuss, yet 6 days later, despite leaving him a message, I’ve heard no further. Both sent me e-mails, one entirely defensive/offensive, the other more apologetic. I wrote an e-mail to the 2 owners expressing my positive thoughts for the food but my disappointment at the service incident. Finally, two and a half hours after it had been taken, one of the servers returned my call and said it would be brought back when the restaurant came to collect its dishes later that evening. At this point, I was deeply concerned, in the middle of my wedding but missing my card with no sign when I’d get it back or even who this person had been. She disappeared, and calls to the restaurant went unanswered. Now, she didn’t say anything to me, so I assumed that she was going to her car to call Visa or even to the restaurant to swipe it, but in either instance, she would return it to me shortly. That came after I gave her my credit card. The person demanding payment, whom I had not been told to expect, aggressively demanded payment when we were in the middle of the reception a bit embarrassing and inconvenient, but this wasn’t the major issue. The restaurant did try to call me, but the reception had started and I didn’t hear the phone ring. But apparently, after my conversation with one of the owners that morning, someone had decided that they needed to paid the remainder immediately. Both in that conversation and in a second conversation with the other owner, it was not specified, despite my asking, when they expected the second half to be paid as the second owner put it, more or less, we know where you live.Ĭome the day of the wedding, the food arrived, tasty, on time and nicely plated. I chose the dishes and paid about half the tab in advance at the request of one of the owners. Because of this and the restaurant’s proximity to my home, I engaged them to provide the. ![]() I have enjoyed the food at this restaurant for a number of years and have been a relatively regular guest. I write because of a very upsetting service experience.
